Darren Schaupp, MA
CEO and Co-Founder, SiteLabs
Darren Schaupp is an entrepreneurial executive with more than 25 years of experience developing and delivering innovative, high-impact initiatives in complex global environments. He has led multinational teams and worked with Ministries of Health in more than a dozen countries, developing programs that have secured tens of millions of dollars in funding and impacted millions of people worldwide.

In 2016, Darren founded and launched a global initiative focused on mapping and managing Neglected Tropical Diseases, including leprosy. The initiative introduced fine-scale disease mapping and equipped and trained more than 3,000 health workers across Africa and Asia. He also founded the first Innovation Prize for Neglected Tropical Diseases, providing seed funding in partnership with Novartis to support health innovations around the world.

Darren has provided executive leadership for global health programs spanning vaccine research, computational drug discovery, and molecular diagnostics. Through his work, he has seen firsthand the transformative impact of accurate and timely diagnosis. At SiteLabs, he is passionate about leveraging the nationwide network of community pharmacies to expand access to clinical research and diagnostic opportunities.

Alexis Hester, MA, CCRC
Clinical Trial Coordinator, SiteLabs
Alexis Hester, MA, CCRC, is a Clinical Trial Coordinator at SiteLabs with more than six years of experience in clinical research. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and a Master of Arts in Medical Science, providing a strong foundation in healthcare and clinical research.

Alexis has experience across multiple therapeutic areas, including infectious disease, trauma, COVID-19, pulmonary, and gastrointestinal research. Her background includes study coordination, patient recruitment, site operations, and supporting research teams in the successful execution of clinical trials. She has also contributed as a co-author to a peer-reviewed publication in Critical Care.

Since joining SiteLabs in October 2025, Alexis has focused on developing partnerships with independent pharmacies and helping them establish clinical trial recruitment programs. She works closely with pharmacy teams to provide training, streamline onboarding, and create practical workflows that make participation in clinical research more accessible for community pharmacies and their patients.

Partner and Managing Pharmacist, Hometown Pharmacy
Sarah Bartel, RPh, is a Partner and Managing Pharmacist at Hometown Pharmacy in Algoma, Wisconsin. A graduate of Purdue University, Sarah brings nearly three decades of experience serving patients and communities in rural healthcare settings.

Sarah is committed to expanding access to healthcare services and resources for her patients. Her professional interests include ForwardHealth (Wisconsin Medicaid) and resources supporting aging and disabled populations. Through her work in independent pharmacy, she brings valuable firsthand experience in serving patients and meeting the unique healthcare needs of rural communities.
