A Special Welcome to our New Directors

Bruce Biundo, RPh, FACA – Director for Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington

Bruce has dedicated more than 60 years to advancing the pharmacy profession through leadership, education, and innovation in compounding. A 1961 graduate of the University of Houston College of Pharmacy (UHCOP), Bruce began his career with Walgreens before opening Boone Road Pharmacy in Houston and later managing a hospital pharmacy for the Sisters of Charity.

In 1997, he joined the Professional Compounding Centers of America (PCCA), where his expertise in men’s health and hormone replacement therapy helped shape national educational initiatives. Bruce has authored numerous publications, contributed to Remington: The Science and Practice of Pharmacy, and co-authored the Nutrition chapter in Aging Men’s Health.

A Fellow of the American College of Apothecaries, Bruce’s accolades include PCCA’s Employee of the Year (2015), Eagle Award (2021), and UHCOP’s 2025 Meritorious Achievement Award. A tireless advocate for pharmacy education, Bruce continues to mentor and inspire future generations of pharmacists.

Dan’neasha Ellerson, PharmD, BCPS – Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota

Dan’neasha is the owner of Health Journey Pharmacy in Gahanna, Ohio. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Findlay and has more than 17 years of experience across community, hospital, and mail-order pharmacy. In 2023, she opened Health Journey Pharmacy, where she provides compounding, functional medicine, adherence solutions, and clinical services such as immunizations, medication therapy management, and remote patient monitoring.

Dr. Ellerson is active in community research, partnering with The Ohio State University on the Black Impact initiative to improve cardiovascular health and with Partners for Kids at Nationwide Children’s Hospital to strengthen medication adherence. She also participates in local and national pharmacy organizations to advance the profession. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys cheering for the OSU Buckeyes, crafting, home décor, traveling, and spending time with her husband and two children.

L. Michelle Woosley, PharmD, CM&AP, CEC, FACA – Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee

Michelle is a pharmacist, business executive, and nationally recognized consultant and executive coach with over 25 years in the pharmacy industry and more than 15 years in senior leadership roles. She brings expertise across community, specialty, home infusion, veterinary, compounding (503A/503B), and health-system pharmacies, as well as medical aesthetics.

Michelle has extensive experience in pharmacy operations, sterile and nonsterile compounding, compliance, quality management, business development, and strategic growth. She has advised pharmacies nationwide on compounding standards, conducted audits, assisted with corrective actions, and collaborated with state Boards of Pharmacy.

Currently, Michelle serves as Vice President of Investment Banking at Cornerstone Business Services, guiding healthcare business owners through mergers, acquisitions, valuations, and strategic growth. She is also Executive Director of the National Coalition of Drug Quality & Security (NCDQS) and a Senior Consultant with Gates Healthcare Associates.

A Certified Mergers & Acquisition Professional and Certified Executive Coach, Michelle becaome a Full Fellows in the American College of Apothecaries (FACA) in 2025 and has been nominated to the ACA Board of Directors. She lives in Louisville, Kentucky, and enjoys competitive tennis, the Kentucky Derby, and fine bourbon.

The American College of Apothecaries (ACA) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Dr. Jay Phipps, the Pharmacy Gladiator, is a Pharmacy Doctor, Entrepreneur, President, and CEO at Phipps Pharmacy. Phipps Pharmacy is an independent pharmacy who provides pharmacy doctor provided patient care including traditional dispensing, compounding services, long-term care pharmacy services, and tailor-made prescription compounding to patients in middle and west Tennessee. Dr. Jay is also the President and CEO of PhippsCare that focuses on Pharmacy Doctor provided healthcare and Health Insurance Solutions which specializes in medical and pharmacy insurance plans for seniors.

Dr. Jay received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from The University of Tennessee Health Science Center where he also completed a residency in Drug Information and Pharmacotherapy. Compounding Pharmacy: Properly Display Current Licenses, Permits

Compounding Pharmacy

PCAB Accreditation Standards require compounding pharmacies to be compliant with all federal, state, local, and nonresident licensure/permit requirements, as applicable.

Copies of current licenses and/or permits, if applicable, must be displayed within public view in a prominent location of the pharmacy and any additional locations or branches.

PCAB Standards

Standard TCRX1-A: The organization is an established entity with legal authority to operate and has a physical location with the appropriate licensure, Articles of Incorporation, or other documentation of legal authority.

The standard applies to an established entity with legal authority to operate that has the appropriate Articles of Incorporation, or other documentation, of legal authority.

Legal authority is granted to one individual, members of a Limited Liability Corporation (LLC), a Board of Directors (usually referred to as the governing body), and as allowed in state statutes for the appropriate type and structure of the organization. The entity, individual, or organization has a copy of the appropriate documentation or authorization to conduct business.

If state or applicable local law requires a license or permit, the organization posts the current copy in a prominent location in all locations/branches and/or in accordance with appropriate regulations or laws. The organization will display all licenses and/or permits required in the pharmacy operation in an area of public view:

  • Resident state board of pharmacy permit/license.
  • Nonresident board of pharmacy permit/license as required, if applicable.
  • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration.
  • State controlled substance license, if applicable.
  • Pharmacist licenses.
  • Pharmacy Technician licenses/certificates, if applicable.
  • Biohazard generator permit or appropriate contract, as required.

Tips for Compliance

  • In addition to appropriate documentation or authorization to conduct business, compounding pharmacies must post copies of all current federal, state, and local licenses and permits in a prominent location of the pharmacy and ensure they can be viewed by customers.
    • Copies of nonresident licenses/permits must also be posted by compounding pharmacies that ship medications into other states.
Megan Reed

Megan Reed, LPhT, CPhT, HDDP, Program Lead, ACHC

Megan is a Certified Pharmacy Technician (2007), who started out her career working at an internship at the CHASS Center, in Detroit, MI.  This experience solidified what she wanted to do in life, which was to help people.  She has worked in two different PCAB Accredited compounding pharmacies.   One designated a 503B Outsourcing Facility.  During that time she was in Quality Assurance, and Lead Technician roles.  Reed diversified during her 14 year career, by also working in hospital outpatient pharmacy.  She is currently the first pharmacy technician hired to work for PCAB (Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board).  Reed is also a member of the Pharmacy Clinical Team, at ACHC (Accreditation Commission for Health Care) in Cary, NC.  The main focus of her expertise is in non-sterile, sterile, and hazardous compounding.

Cary, NC – Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) announces the renewal of its partnership with American College of Apothecaries (ACA), an organization dedicated to advancing the entrepreneurial spirit of member pharmacists through education, innovation, mentoring, fellowship, and training.
